Maria charming house

awesome view over Val d’Orcia landscape

The house is located in the ancient village of Rocca d’Orcia, in the municipality of Castiglione d’Orcia. The hamlet is dominated by the remains of a castle erected in the 13th century (Rocca di Tentennano) that can still be visited today and from which one can enjoy an awesome view over Val d’Orcia landscape.

Maria charming house consists of three floors: on the ground floor there is a large kitchen with a dining area and a bathroom, on the second floor the living room with a double sofa bed and a second bathroom, and finally on the third floor the double bedroom with a small terrace.

The garden outside is equipped with table, chairs, sun loungers and enjoys a panoramic view over the Val d’Orcia and the village of Ripa d’Orcia perched on the hill. This green corner will offer you relaxing moments for dinners and aperitifs in the open air.

Surroundings

You can also discover the unique landscape of the Val d’Orcia through its ‘white roads’ and the countless paths that cross the Via Francigena. Don’t miss Pienza and the little Monticchiello.

Pienza is a superb example of Renaissance architecture. The rebuilding of Pienza according to humanist urban reorganization was an example for many other Italian and European cities. Monticchiello is famousfor its Teatro Povero. In July the villagers stage a themed show in the village square.

For lovers of good wine, Montalcino and Montepulciano are about ten km away, while for a day at the thermal baths, the nearby Bagno Vignoni (7 km) and Bagni di San Filippo (15 km) will provide moments of relaxation and wellness. Bagno Vignoni develops around its main square consisting of a large sixteenth-century basin. Inside it gushes hot thermal water, which comes out from the underground.
