One of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany
Suvereto: one of the most beautiful in Tuscany. The medieval village of Suvereto is a mix of history and art halfway between the hills and the sea of the Etruscan coast. Suvereto owes its name to the numerous cork forests that surround it. We are in Val Cornia, the hinterland behind Piombino, facing the island of Elba.

Suvereto: one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany
The ancient city wall preserves interesting monuments and churches inside. In front of the medieval access door is the Romanesque church of San Giusto with the beautiful entrance portal characterized by two classical columns. Adjacent to the church is the Museum of Arta sacra.
Going up through the village you arrive at the eighteenth-century Church of the Madonna di Sopra with a beautiful 16th century painting inside. The Town Hall, built in the 13th century and partially remodeled, is characterized by the presence of the Loggia dei Giudici. Outside the walls in an elevated position is the imposing Rocca Aldobrandesca. In a hilly position there’s the convent of San Francesco with its cloister: a thirteenth-century work where shows are held especially in summer.

In Suvereto there is also a very special museum: the Doll Museum is a real museum of the history of the game, with a rich collection that spans the years and customs.
